GVPS' proprietor is Jim Sanders, who started working on pianos in 1975 while a student at Warren Wilson College. With three pianists in his immediate family, the ability to keep the family piano in good working order has been a helpful contribution.

He holds a Bachelors's degree in Technology from Appalachian State University with a minor in voice performance. For much of his career, Jim worked as a registered radiation therapist, treating cancer patients, but always staying involved in music. His primary performance instrument is guitar and he has written hundreds of songs.

Jim plays for his own enjoyment and appreciates pianos for their beautiful combination of music, technical intricacy, and natural materials.

In order to help you preserve the functionality and tone of your investment Jim is also a qualified installer of the Piano lifesaver Humidity Control System.
